Power Monkey Camp 6 Recap

After an exhausting and amazing time at Power Monkey Camp 6 this past week our staff is back in the office and getting back into the swing of things. We haven't fully recovered, sleeping 9 hours a night without interruption and still hoping for a nap during the day, but it's always worth it and we are already looking forward to camp again in April! It being our second time to attend camp we knew what to expect and were able to constantly be ahead of the game rather than constantly working; a huge blessing that meant more playtime...

RosieJo Is Headed Back to Power Monkey Fitness Camp!

Your favorite RosieJo staff is headed back to beautiful Crossville, Tennessee to cook for the amazing people of the 6th biannual Power Monkey Fitness Camp! Power Monkey Camp is a week long, all-inclusive, fitness-focused camp taught by world class gymnasts, weightlifters, aerialists, CrossFitters, etc. RosieJo was invited to cook for the 5th Camp in April of 2016 and all of us can agree that it was one of the most exciting and rewarding (albeit also VERY tiring!) weeks. It's on our menu this week so do yourself a favor and order 3.   Cappello's whole pasta line is gluten, grain, dairy, and soy free and made with only non-gmo, simple ingredients. Our beloved lasagna sheets in particular are made with only 5 ingredients: almond flour, cage free eggs, tapioca starch, xanthan gum, and sea salt, but we're positive you would never know the difference. Gluten and...

Ghee: What is it?

Ghee: What is it?

(image:paleoplan.com)   Ghee is simply clarified butter; butter that has been slowly simmered to remove the milk proteins, water, and sugar, leaving pure butterfat and making it a safe and healthy fat for those with dairy sensitivities. Ghee is also a saturated fat, making it perfect for cooking at high heat. Monounsaturated oils (macadamia nut oil, peanut oil, etc) and polyunsaturated oils (soybean oil, grapeseed oil, corn oil, etc.) especially are considerably less stable than saturated fats and heating these oils cause them to oxidize, causing free radical damage in our bodies when we consume them. Coconut oil and ghee...
