Katie Wells, RosieJo Meals Founder and Chef, developed a love of cooking at a very young age sitting on the kitchen counter watching her mother, Jennie Jo, cook. Many favorite RosieJo Meals are derived from her mother’s recipes.
After earning a BA in Sociology and Economics from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, Katie headed to New York to pursue her keenest passion at The Culinary Institute of America. Upon graduation, she remained at the CIA as a fellow in the Seafood Cookery Kitchen. Katie has relished her life in the foodservice industry ever since—working in high-end restaurants in Napa Valley and then for a decade in her own fine dining restaurant in Salado, Texas. And she has always found time for, and joy in, cooking for family and friends along the way.
In 2007, neighbors and friends introduced Katie to the CrossFit community. She was a founding member at the first CrossFit gym in her area. Katie and her husband, Ran, remain avid CrossFitters. As her love of cooking permeates every aspect of her life, Katie was soon cooking and prepping meals for her CrossFit community. Through CrossFit Centex, she met Chad and Jodi Vaughn. That relationship led to the opportunity to work with the larger CrosssFit community when Katie joined the amazing Power Monkey family. She has been the Power Monkey Chef for the last 5½ years, and she looks forward to many more.
RosieJo Meals was born from this coupling of Katie’s dual passions—cooking and Crossfit—making her business a labor of love and unique in the meal prepping market. While RosieJo Meals is a small family-owned business, it has yielded many amazing opportunities, including catering the 2020 CrossFit Games.
“I love working with the fitness community; I love preparing healthy, delicious meals that support a sustainable lifestyle, not a diet. People get pumped when they eat something healthy that they enjoy.”

“I literally LOVE to cook. I cook at work. I cook at home. I am very
blessed to get to do what I love every day.”
